Explorer post 911

Under the Boy Scouts of America and sponsored by the WFD, the explorer program is a hands on program open to young men and women interested in learning more about the fire service.  Applicants to the explorers must be age 14 to apply.  Under the guidance of experienced firefighters from the WFD, explorers learn firefighting skills and build confidence and leadership which can help in future education and career paths.

Explorers train and respond with the WFD in a controlled environment and under the guidance of mentors.  Upon explorers 18th birthday they can apply to be a firefighter and join the WFD.
